It was a few years ago when one of my friends travelled to Denmark that she got to know what Hygge means (pronounced hoo-guh) , a “Danish word used when acknowledging a feeling or moment, whether alone or with friends, at home or out, ordinary or extraordinary as cozy, charming or special” (http://hyggehouse.com/hygge).

This term has expanded into a whole philosophy, ranging from mixtapes, games, books, I am actually writing this article as I listen to a Spotify Hygge playlist.

In The Little Book of Hygge you can find how to make those cozy reading nooks you always wanted in your home, deco inspiration, a glog punch recipe and the importance to buy enough candles. I must say that now I know why Scandinavia is big on candles, they help to build a chill atmosphere, especially when it´s too cold to go out.

I decided to try out the Hygge game after seeing it in East City Book Shop. “The game has more than 300 thought-provoking questions designed to spark meaningful conversation and create the right atmosphere for a hygge evening”. It intrigued me so I thought to give it a try.
